Progress report 01FEB

Hello everyone!

Progress has been alright. Pretty good relative to actual work done, but not good enough to complete my objectives. I've rendered the second Eve scene, and I'm in the middle of rendering Sheila's 4th scene. It already has 19 renders right now, and I believe it needs about 10 more to be done. In other random news, Microshit has decided to discontinue WordPad, which was the software I used to write dialogue on. I made a call to other professionals to know what they used and they provided me with great suggestions, so I'll be trying some new word processors out in the future.

With that out of the way, I'll rip the bandaid once and for all and tell you guys that I won't be making it to February for 0.5. And I won't be giving any more deadlines in the future.
This last bit has been a long time coming, and I believe that I was even already considering that back in September, when I was still laying out the contents for 0.5.
Since the beginning, deadlines have only been a source of disappointment for you guys, and of unnecessary anxiety for me. Not only am I terrible at foreseeing unexpected extra work, I'm also not great at judging how long a task will take to finish, and I give myself more work as I go. A simple example of that, Eve was supposed to have 3 scenes total. Fast forward to now that she has 6, plus at least 1 side event for the release. Same goes for Sheila who was supposed to have 5 and now has 7.

I really thought I could do the renders in two months. But even though I've never put out renders that fast, almost 200 renders done since mid-December and I'm barely at half of all the MAIN events I'm supposed to have finished. Then there is implementation, audio, and adding and implementing the side-events. I just can't do that in a month.

So, when to expect the update without a deadline? I know some of you guys are looking forward to the update and want to know roughly when to expect it, as an adult games fan myself I understand the feeling. The best I can do is to advice you to read the progress reports to know what's been done and what will be done next. If you want a better idea of what's left to be done and have the money to spare, the progress bars are available at the $5 tier, and the spoilers post could give you a good idea of what's been done recently too. Additionally, I'll probably streaming my programming sessions where I'll be implementing the new content, so stay tuned for that.

That's pretty much all I have to say for today. Not the best news, I know, But I'm still grinding.
See you in 10 days :)
