Progress report 10DEC
There are a few things to talk about today. Let's begin with the bulk of what's been done during this previous dev cycle:
The renders. I'm pleased to announce that the two first Sheila events are fully rendered and functional. That's a total of 51 renders, including some of my best work so far. 51 renders in 10 days is also a crazy score for me, I don't think I've ever worked so fast. I've began sharing spoilers with the supporters (and a couple investor-exclusive ones too) from the beginning of the dev cycle, and the response has been positive.
The writing? So yes, writing isn't a linear task. Not for me anyway. Often enough I have to let my work sit for a few days before I can have a proper assessment of it, or to identify what feels wrong about some of what I wrote. The issue here being that I was never fully satisfied about the Eve events I wrote, and that something always felt off. The main Eve events being half in terms of lines compared to the Sheila events being a hint. Now that I've taken 10 days to render, I can tell you that I've pinpointed what was off, and that I'm going to take a few days to correct that.
I think one of my weaknesses as a writer is that I always tend to make my dialogue overdramatic. That's something I've learned to identify and correct most of the time, but in this case, I ran into the wall so fast that went as far as dismiss (more or less involuntarily) the original (and great) ideas I had for Eve's introduction. And that's I think part of the issue. Whenever I have a great idea for a story, the way I work prevents me from actually writing dialogue for it. Because I can have that great idea in the middle of working on renders, writing code, for example. And contrary to what I believed, I guess taking extensive notes isn't enough. I'm taking that as a learning experience.
Anyway, I think that in the future, if I ever get an idea as clear as I had for Eve, I'll start writing dialogue right away. I think this will prevent me from getting a few more headaches like I had these days.
In conclusion. A bittersweet 10 days for me: I've never been so productive with my rendering process, and yet I feel so far from the goal. This isn't a good feeling. There is something good to takeaway though: since I delivered the worst possible news on the last progress report (0.5 being delayed to February), now the only news I can give are good news! How nice!
Anyway. Today, you get a render. :)
Hungry MILF in a dimly lit room. What could go wrong? Probably nothing, if you feed her that popcorn as fast as possible!
Anyway, that's all I have for today. To the supporters that aren't on Discord: I'm going to share all the spoiler renders that I've shared on Discord during the past 10 days (that I haven't already shared here) in the upcoming spoiler post (on Subscribestar), and probably a bonus one. Hang on to your tits.
See you soon!
